SEAI Solar PV Grant will decrease in 2025

The SEAI Solar PV Grant amount will change on 1st January 2025. The maximum grant of €2100 will reduce to €1800. To avail of the higher €2100 grant, your application to the SEAI must be fully completed and submitted before this date. You will then have 8 months from the day you receive your SEAI Letter of Offer to complete the solar installation.

The SEAI Solar Electricity Grant provides a grant to help with the cost of buying and installing solar photovoltaic (PV) panels for your home.

You must apply for the grant and get a grant offer from the SEAI before you get your solar panels installed.

Grant will decrease

In 2024, the grant was capped at €2,100. The Government plans to reduce the grant by up to €300 every year, as it expects the cost of solar panel systems to reduce over time.

Time is running out

It is intended that the grant will end completely in 2029.
