How Solar Power Works

Combining Energy Independence & Eco Smart Devices

The sun provides us with an unlimited and reliable source of free energy. Solar Photovoltaics (PV) panels harness this natural power source and convert it to electricity. When the Solar PV installation is designed correctly you can generate enough electricity from the panels during the day to meet your needs, saving you money and reducing your energy bills throughout the year.

PV ARRY

Solar PV panels are mounted on the most suitable roof space. Special brackets can be installed for ground mounting.

INVERTER

A solar inverter – which converts DC voltage to AC voltage – is connected to the main distribution board.

BATTERY

The solar battery draws in energy produced by the solar panel and stores it until you need it.

DIVERTER

When the Solar PV panels are producing more electricity than you are using, the surplus is can be diverted to an immersion or heater, or can be fed back to the national electricity grid.

POWER METER

The meter measures electricity usage and solar credits.

NATIONAL GRID

At times when you have a higher demand for electricity, the shortfall is made up by drawing power from the national grid.
